Go with white furniture

White furniture is notoriously difficult to maintain. Spills and even dust can cause your furniture to look dirty. Along with the possibility of spilled stains, the sun can sometimes cause white furniture to yellow if proper precautions are not taken. As a single person, if you are careful, you will be able to maintain a white couch and bedding. If you select white furniture, you should use proper window treatments to make sure that the sun is properly filtered in your windows. For couches, choose a white sofa that has removable covers so that the couch can be cleaned when necessary. 

Bring in the girly fixtures

Compromise is key when you have a family. If you are married, you will have to come to an agreement about the overall decor of the home. As a single person, you can decorate any way that you choose, including having a home filled with frills and bows. Select furniture and knickknack items that properly display your feminine side. If you have a strong preference for pink and purple, add as many pink and purple items as you so choose. Doilies and ruffles can be displayed in every room of your home without a single complaint. Decorating your single-family home as a single woman gives you license to decorate so that it is pleasing solely to your eye.
